Language and sex or gender (it's more suitable to the context) is often related. In some culture, it's very obvious while in some others, it's not that obvious. The example of foreign language which does distinguish based on gender in its grammar are French, Italian, German, Spanish and Russian plus Japanese. Those languages insert the differentiation in subjects (for masculine and feminine) or in the prefixes' or suffixes and articles. Meanwhile in English, the gender-based one is only available for the subject (he, she) and certain expressions or ways of addressing people or offensive words.
Example:
- You gotta man-up, dude. There's no time to be pouty. (The expression 'man-up',which means be brave to face the situation, only suits for male)
- Lovely dress, lass. It does suit you well. (the word, 'lass' is only applicable for female in the Scottish English, while for male it's 'lad')
- Get out of here, you son of a b****!! (the word 'son of a b****' is more suitable for male, not female. There's no daughter of a b**** in English context)
